One for all the family!, 12 Nov 2008
We bought this on Monday and watched it last night with our eldest daughter - who is getting into ballet. She was totally transfixed by Darcey Bussell, who just shines in this. It was such a delight to see her perform like this, as a full blown ballet is a bit hard for kids to sit through. We loved it too! Katherine Jenkins sparkles, and her voice is in fine form. For a credit crunch night in this is hard to beat for all round family entertainment, and will be lovely at Christmas for the whole family to get together to watch.
Something for everyone, 12 Nov 2008
I saw the production of Viva La Diva at the 02 and thought it was a great nights entertainment. I watched the DVD of the show last night and thoroughly enjoyed it all over again. Viva La Diva is a spectacular traditional musical variety show, good choice of songs from Katherine Jenkins (I especially loved her rendition of The Man Who Got Away)some great dance numbers from Darcey Bussell and Gary Avis (Bandwagon, The Flamenco were my favourites) and you have to take your top hat off to a great orchestra and company of dancers and singers too. Loved it. If you are looking for a stocking filler for Christmas, make sure you give it to someone you will be spending the day with. Enjoy your turkey, watch the Queen's Speech and then sit back and get ready to be entertained. If you time it right you can then go straight into the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special!!
Apologies, just read a couple of the other reviews, particularly the comments on production. I used the word 'traditional' with regard to the production, I think it also applies to the filming, which I felt was very good, it was simply done certainly, but in a good way with no irritating and overly clever edits etc and the sound was good too. I think the style of filming gives the viewer control over what they focus on, the cameras stay back quite a lot so you can see the scale and spectacle and goes in close to draw you in to the individual performance etc. and the energy of the show really comes across, which is often what dissapoints when you re-visit something on film that you have already seen live. I had no issues with the quality at all. I think that the DVD may not appeal to the viewer who is used to a more 'MTV music video' style of entertainment where the energy comes from the edit rather than the performer. A sweeping generalisation I know, but hope you get my point. Those of you who already know what you are going to get with Katherine Jenkins, Darcey Bussell and Gary Avis will enjoy this DVD as it delivers it in abundance. Those of you who are less familiar with them, I think, will enjoy getting to know you them by watching this production. Katherine Jenkins proves she is more than a great singer, Darcey Bussell dances in so many styles that we have not seen from her before and Gary Avis, well if there was ever a re-incarnation of Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly in one human being, he must surely be it. Fabulous. Hope this helps.

We went to see the show and WOW, We could not wait for the DVD to be released and its the WOW all over again....well worth the wait and well worth watching it again and again. If you saw the show or missed it this DVD is just amazing!
Absolutely Brilliant , 11 Nov 2008
This is such an amazing DVD. I pre-ordered it ages ago and the family sat down to watch it last night. Katherine and Darcey look amazing and the singing and dancing is really fabulous. Guess what my mum's getting for Christmas? Viva La Diva!!
Has Anyone Actually Seen The DVD??, 11 Nov 2008
I'm sorry but thus far there are just reviews of the live show which will always be better than a DVD. Only one review has described the DVD so far, which is what we are looking to buy, NOT tickets to the show. Anyone got anything positive to say about the DVD to counter the poor review the production got? Is it worth buying this product or waiting until a better re-edited version appears?

Great design, 08 Nov 2008
The show itself is not that great, the girls can't really sing live and I can't understand why they really wanna sing Every Heartbeat with the endless (dis)harmony intro. It's really cringe-worthy but not as bad as the unplugged version on a B Side they did.
Anyway, the design of the dvd is really top-notch. This is what the Tangled Up album should have looked like. The front, back, the great booklet, all fantastic pictures, design, colors, fonts....so why stick the album with such a ghastly look?
Every screen of the menu has instrumentals of the album tracks and it makes you really wish they'd release these separately, you really get to appreciate the music that is the background for these great songs.
All in all worth 4 stars, mainly for the extra content which includes all 3 videos for this album's singles and some other ads and backstrage making-of.
Nice video - awful sound, 05 Nov 2008
I have 2.0 speakers and the 2.0 sound output of this dvd is really awful with a lot of distortion. The 4.1 is not much better either.
This problem aside, there some vocal audio drop-outs during the vocals, which is from the recording.
The video is pretty good apart from a little too much grain.
The camera work is good too - this is a concert video not a load of crotch close-ups like the last recorded concert. Visually its more polished than their other performances and the outfits arent as whorish as last time.
Other than that there arent any surprises, Nadine is still the best singer, Tweedy needs to put some weight on, Harding is the best live performer and the male dancers still look dumb.
sound like cats, 03 Nov 2008
Don't bother to buy this unless you want to hear five cats screaming. None of them can sing

Girls Aloud - Tangled Up Tour 2008
I was there at the O2 and it was a brilliant gig. The costumes, dance routines and vocals of all five girls were fantastic. They sang all the hits, as well as the songs featured on the Tangled Up album. Surprise extra stage from the bridge was a nice surprise treat.

Excellent DVD, 17 Nov 2008
Have just bought this to go with the 2007 live tour, and this is brilliant, as was the 2007 live tour, this comes with subtitles which the 2007 one didn't have, very useful for hard of hearing people, all the stars from all 3 series are here and clever pairings for those that couldn't be matched with their original partner from the tv series for whatever reason. there's behind the scenes of the tour and interviews. Universal studios own the rights to the Live Tour Series, so this is the full night filmed live as opposed to ITV's series of DVD's which is just highlights. Thoroughly recommend this!

I was there at the O2 and it was a brilliant gig. The costumes, dance routines and vocals of all five girls were fantastic. They sang all the hits, as well as the songs featured on the Tangled Up album. Surprise extra stage from the bridge was a nice surprise treat.
Amazing Show, 13 Nov 2008
I went to this show 4 times, unfortunately Croke Park wasn't one of them , but i have friends that went and they have said what an amazing show the lads put on, i'm really looking forward to the dvd being released. Westlife are amazing singers, dancers and entertainers, here's to 10 more years xx
Absolutely Amazing!!! Love the Boys, 11 Nov 2008
Went to see the tour 4 times this year. Westlife are just incredible. This is a must buy for any fan, They look great, sound great and can even dance. 10 YEARS at the top and still going. Thanks for the great DVD Boys.

Kylie's success, 19 Nov 2008
I live in Spain ( Madrid ) and went to see Kylie's show at the Palacio de Deportes , near my apartment . Sensational .. Kylie really knows how to entertain her fans , and this was the very first time she'd performed a concert in Spain !
I agree with other pre-previews ( we haven't seen the DVD yet ! ) that Kylie wins over Madonna for the fact that she plays live ... I love Madonna too but tickets to her concerts are prohibitively expensive and she relies on playback !! C'mon Madonna ! Your fans deserve more than that !
Still , Kylie was amazing and I'll be looking forward to an early christmas present to myself with this dvd .
Kylie, You Rock, Wo!, 19 Nov 2008
KylieX2008 is Kylie's best tour to date, comparing to Showgirl, Fever and On A Night Like This tours, they are nothing. The clothes, projections, the dancers everything is perfect. Another thing special on this DVD is that Kylie used new mixes of her popular songs including Can't Get You Out Of My Head which is mixed with the great X unreleased track Boombox, that makes the performace of Can't Get You Out Of My Head so special. It also featurs a great remix of the "Rhythem of Love" song "Step Back In Time" and the fantastic brand-new slow songs "Flower" and "Ruffle My Feathers". As almost all Kylie fans already watched this tour on TV, this DVD inclueds some new stuff like perfomances of songs were not played on TV and the documentary of the tour, I think those new stuff woth it. The only negative thing about this DVD is that there is no balance in the tracklist, I mean for example we can't find any song from albums "Impossible Princess" (which is the all-time fans favorite), "Kylie Minogue" or even "Let's Get To It" and "Enjoy Yourself" while other albums like "Light Years" or "Fever" are heavly perfomed during the tour. It could be so perfect if Kylie perfomed at least one song from each album, otherways you should add this item to your basket NOW!
comparing kylie to madonna is an insult., 10 Nov 2008
after reading the 2 star review, it needs to be stated,
to compare kylie to madonna is a total insult, kylie has something that madonna can only dream of....CLASS
being that i live in the only country in the world it seems, that wont be graced with kylies tour, i can only count the days till this dvd arrives.
it will without a doubt not disappoint in any way.
Wow!, 10 Nov 2008
Saw Kylie on tour at the 02 for the first time ever, all I can say is the concert was incredible. Many of the tracks from her new album are here, (unsurprisingly) the only quibble my personal favourite Cosmic isn't included, but that's just a minor glip on an otherwise amazing night out.
Especially enjoyed the last segment, when she dispensed with the dancers, and held the crowd on her own, she's a terrific entertainer 'our Kylie' long may she reign.
AMAZING!, 09 Nov 2008
WOW WOW WOW WOW!.... yes this is the amazing kylie minogue putting on another spectacular (and again very different from the last tour "showgirl") show!.. its funny that the only negative review so far is from someone who has to mention the name "madonna" in a 'kylie' review repeatedly.. NOT a very constructive way to review someones live show. it is actually NOTHING like any madonna tour and if i was to compare it in any way id say that on this tour as usual kylie sings totally live not over a backing track of her record unlike others do on tour!...
its a real shame that its not looking like becoming kylies first tour on blu ray.. it was filmed in hd and would have been so ace if it had been released on blu ray. oh well for now ill have to make do with upscaled dvd when i buy this as soon as it comes out..
memories of an amazing show from one of the best stage performers in the world.. kylie just oozes charisma and stage presence. "flower", a new ballad is totally beautiful and shows her voice off best along with the very personal "X" album track "no more rain" which kylie wrote about what it would feel like after her illness to get back in front of an audience again. STUNNING! along with them are countless greatest hits covering her 21 year (and counting) career and new smash hits from her great latest album "X" including the fab "2 hearts" which could have been a great blondie song in the late 70s and the poptastic (and highlight of the whole show for me) "in my arms" which just had the most amazing bass and just took the roof off...
AMAZING show which is now touring south america, asia and ending in australia and new zealand in december 2008.see it again on dvd from december 1st and relive the full show again for the first time and enjoy behind the scenes footage and the ace tour projections from the show as well as tour gallery.

Viva La Diva - Darcey Bussell and Katherine Jenkins
Just like the stage play..., 12 Nov 2008

I was at this concert when it was recorded and it was an amazing night of fantastic songs and a wonderful artist celebrating 50 years at the top. He is Britains top artist who always gives 100 per cent in all he does.
This must be the DVD of the year. Rock on Cliff, Youre the best.

Cliff on tour, 19 Nov 2008
I was at this concert when it was recorded and it was an amazing night of fantastic songs and a wonderful artist celebrating 50 years at the top. He is Britains top artist who always gives 100 per cent in all he does.
This must be the DVD of the year. Rock on Cliff, Youre the best.
A fantastic gig!, 21 Nov 2008
It's great to have a DVD of a gig one has actually been to. I went to the Friday show, which of course didn't feature Jimmy Page, but it was still a great night. The atmostphere was amazing, which is captured quite well by the filming and the gig was definately a highlight of 2008 for me! A must for any Foo Fighters fan!
The best night of my life?...probably!!, 10 Nov 2008
I will write this review before viewing the DVD (santa will be buying me this!!), as it was by far the best gig that I have been to this year!!!
(and I've seen Radiohead, Madonna, The Kaisers, Korn...just to name a few)
And I was only there on the Friday so wasn't there to witness Led Zep's input...can't wait to see that one!!
It was one of the best nights I have ever had the atmosphere was amazing and certainly the highlight of my summer (especially as I didn't make any of the festivals!!)
I even adopted a friend for the evening who although well and truely under the influence of alcohol seemed to be having a great time!!
Thank you very much to the Foo's and I hope it won't be too long until you are back at Wembley again!
Buy it, 22 Sep 2008
If you're a rock fan, buy it. I was there that night so this was a must buy for me but Dave Grohl put it best and I quote "welcome to the best f*****g night of my whole entire life". He's a big time Zep fan and seeing him back on drums with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones playing like it's 1977 again is worth the asking price alone. This is one for those Saturday nights when you've been out and had a few beers, get home and want to carry on partying; stick it on, turn it up and dream of Madison Square Garden in the 70s. Simply awesome.
A must for Foo fans, 05 Sep 2008
I was there on the 7th.. This dvd is a must for all Foo Fighters fans even if you couldn't make it, the dvd will make you feel as though you were there!
'Welcome to the greatest night of my entire life...', 03 Sep 2008
I genuinely think that Dave Grohl meant that when he mustered those words in disbelief.
Where do I start?
This concert was filmed live on location at Wembley Stadium, at the beginning of June earlier this year. I was lucky enough to find tickets for the Saturday show, and I knew it was going to be one of the best live shows I have ever seen.
I stand by that statement. I have been fortunate enough to see the Stereophonics in Llandudno (which was a massive coup for Venue Cymru), and Iron Maiden and Trivium in Manchester, and although Maiden were outstanding, I felt more alive and captivated by this show, even if I was three tiers up and Dave Grohl was the proverbial ant.
Here, I can re-live the concert again (or certainly parts of it), and the only downside is that I wanted more songs on the DVD - 'Come Alive' was outstanding, and there could easily have been more additions.
But Taylor Hawkins's drum solo, and Dave Grohl and Chris Shiflett's guitar duel in 'Stacked Actors' were fantastic...and then...
...you had Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. What an honour it was to share the company of these absolute legends. Dave got behind the drums for 'Rock and Roll' and Taylor did the vocals (and was startlingly like Robert Plant) - brilliant.
Dave then did the vocals for 'Ramble On' while Taylor got back on the drums.
An unforgettable night indeed. Please buy the DVD, even if you weren't a part of it.
10/10 - Outstanding, absolutely brilliant.

Viva La Diva - Darcey Bussell and Katherine Jenkins
Just like the stage play..., 12 Nov 2008
None of them can sing
...one of the best live shows, 31 Oct 2008
flawless performance, great extras and girls actually sing live, and they can singn quite well:)
ENJOY AND DANCE ALONG!!!
Had to be there to appreciate, 31 Oct 2008
Girls Aloud - Tangled Up Tour 2008
I was there at the O2 and it was a brilliant gig. The costumes, dance routines and vocals of all five girls were fantastic. They sang all the hits, as well as the songs featured on the Tangled Up album. Surprise extra stage from the bridge was a nice surprise treat.
VERY GOOD, 18 Oct 2008
THE BEST EVER .
BOYS LOOK VERY GOOD 2
LOVE THEM ALL GOOD WORK LADS ...
Thoroughly recommend this!
skating on ice, 02 Nov 2008
went to manchester to see the show.... what a great night we had. they told us they were filming it and when it would be available to buy. cant wait to get it
love DOI, 29 Oct 2008

Boyz back at their best!, 04 Nov 2008
After being a die hard fan back in the day, this is not just a definate must buy for any true fan but for anyone who owns a Boyzone album. Of all the live videos/DVDs that have ever been released on the Boyzone front I think this one is the best by miles, the show was fantastic and the editing of it exceptional.
natural born entertainers, 19 Oct 2008
this dvd is definitely a must for all boyzone fans and for people who want to be totally entertained for a couple of hours. it brought back some great memories of seein the boyz last year. my highlights have to be 'words', 'and i' and the jackson medley. with this dvd the boyz will prove yet again that they are amazing natural performers.
